About Detention
Detention is a unique atmospheric horror game that draws heavily from Taiwanese and East Asian culture, featuring references to Taoism and Buddhism. Set in the 1960s during Taiwan's martial law period, the game immerses players in a haunting school environment beset by supernatural events. Players use a simple point-and-click mechanism to guide characters through the school, uncovering the stories behind its haunted past.
The game integrates religious elements from Taiwanese and Chinese culture and mythology, offering players a distinctive graphic style and gaming experience. Detention is an award-winning title, having received the IndieCade 2017 award, and was developed by Red Candle Games.
