Application Description

High-quality implementation of the most popular card game Durak (Fool)

The card game "Durak" ("Fool", "Dumb") is one of the most popular and widely played card games in the former Soviet Union. With this high-quality implementation, you can enjoy playing "Durak" ("Fool") offline, without an internet connection, using a deck of 24, 36, or 52 cards.

"Durak" ("Fool") comes in two main variants: "Fool Flip" (Durak Podkidnoy) and "Fool Transferable" (Durak Perevodnoy). While the rules of both versions share some similarities, they also have distinct nuances that add to the excitement of the game.

The primary goal of "Durak" is to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible. The first player to do so becomes the winner, while the last player remaining is dubbed the "fool" (durak).

In the "Fool Flip" (Durak Podkidnoy) variant, which is the classic version of the game, if the attacking player has no cards to throw at the defending player, the next player to the left of the defender can take a turn. They are allowed to throw only one card at a time. Once the card is beaten, the right to throw returns to the original attacker. If the player to the left of the defender has no cards to throw, the opportunity passes to the next player in a clockwise direction. This allows all players to participate in throwing cards, but in turn, which is why it's called "Flip Fool" (Durak Podkidnoy) or "Durak Classic."

The "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy) variant adds an extra layer of strategy and excitement to the game. Starting from the second move, the defending player can "transfer" a card thrown at them by playing a card of the same rank but of a different suit. This shifts the defense to the next player in a clockwise direction, who can also choose to "transfer" the card to the next player, and so on. This is why this variant is known as "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy).

Features of this high-quality implementation include:

  • Offline gameplay without an internet connection.
  • Beautiful, engaging graphics with a variety of "tables," "cards," and "shirts," including "satin cards."
  • Multiple options for sorting your cards.
  • Highlighting of your cards (which can be turned off).
  • Deck sizes of 24, 36, or 52 cards.
  • Classic rules for both "Flip" (Podkidnoy) and "Transfer" (Perevodnoy) variants of "Durak."
  • A "Basic" mode for those who prefer a simpler game, where you play only against the player to your left, and no one else can attack.
  • A limit of no more than five cards thrown on the first hand.
  • In "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy), you cannot "transfer" on the first hand.
  • In "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy), if you have a trump card of the same rank as the one you were dealt and wish to cover rather than transfer, you can drag your card over the card you want to cover.

Strategy and Skill

Playing "Durak" requires strategic thinking and the ability to analyze situations. You must decide when to play a card and when to hold onto it for a better opportunity. Vigilance is key, as you need to observe other players' actions to deduce what cards they might still have.

"Durak" is a beloved and widely enjoyed card game that offers a fantastic way to spend time in a fun and engaging manner.

Don't miss the chance to test your skills in this intriguing card game and experience the thrill it brings! Play "Durak" for free, offline, and hone your skills to outsmart your opponents.
