ARK: Major Content Unveiled for Next 2 Years

ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled

Studio Wildcard has released an updated roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, detailing content updates extending into late 2026. This Unreal Engine 5 remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved, initially released in early access in November 2023, will receive a steady stream of new content and improvements.

Key highlights from the roadmap include:

  • Unreal Engine 5.5 Upgrade (March 2025): This significant update will bring substantial performance enhancements and reinstate Nvidia's frame generation. It will also pave the way for individual DLC map downloads, reducing the overall game size.

  • New Maps and Creatures: The roadmap outlines the addition of several new maps, both free and paid:

    • Free Ragnarok Ascended, Bison (Free Creature), and a Fantastic Tame (April 2025)
    • Paid Premium Map (June 2025) (Details to be announced)
    • Free Valguero Ascended, Community-Voted Free Creature, and Fantastic Tame (August 2025)
    • Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 & Bob's True Tales Part 1 (April 2026)
    • Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 & Bob's True Tales Part 2 (August 2026)
    • Free Fjordur Ascended and Community-Voted Free Creature (December 2026)
  • Fantastic Tames: A total of six Fantastic Tames are planned for release throughout 2025 and 2026.

The roadmap focuses on larger content drops, with the possibility of smaller, unannounced additions throughout the next two years. The addition of individual DLC map downloads is a significant improvement aimed at optimizing the game's install size and providing players more control over their downloads. The focus on free content updates alongside paid DLC ensures a balance of value for players.
