Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down

Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch, highlighting the game's struggles to gain traction in the global market. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation.

Closure Date:

The global servers will shut down on March 28th, 2025 – ironically, the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5-year anniversary. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress through Chapter 22 (Part 2).

In-Game Purchases and Final Events:

In-game purchases are already disabled. However, players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises additional content and events leading up to the closure.

Reasons for Shutdown:

The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory standard for global players as the reason for the EOS. The game faced criticism almost immediately after launch, with players expressing concerns about the gacha system, gameplay mechanics, and aggressive monetization strategies. These factors, coupled with perceived power creep, contributed to the game's underperformance and ultimately led to this decision.

Players wishing to experience the game one last time can find it on the Google Play Store. For those seeking a new mobile gaming experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event.
