The Battle of Polytopia has just spiced up its gameplay with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering a new and exciting way for players to test their strategic prowess in this beloved 4X strategy game. Let's dive into what this update brings to the table.
It Was Random Before
Previously, The Battle of Polytopia thrived on its randomness, with varying enemies, resources, and maps ensuring no two games were the same. This element of unpredictability was both a challenge and a charm. However, with the latest free update, the game introduces a more structured competitive environment.
Each week, players are presented with the same map and tribe, leveling the playing field and ensuring identical gameplay conditions for everyone. The challenge? Achieve the highest score possible within just 20 turns. You're allowed one attempt per day, which means you can make a maximum of seven tries per week.
One of the exciting aspects of Weekly Challenges is the opportunity to play as tribes you might not yet own. The game boasts a total of 16 tribes, with four included in the base game and twelve available for purchase between $1-4 each. During Weekly Challenges, however, everyone can compete using the selected tribe, whether they own it or not.
Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, the Weekly Challenges promise to inject a fresh dose of excitement into The Battle of Polytopia. Alongside these challenges, a new League system has been introduced. Starting in the Entry League, players can climb up or move down based on their weekly performance. Each week, the top third of players advance to the next league, the bottom third drop down, and the middle third maintain their position.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level scales up. In the Entry League, you'll face AI opponents on Easy difficulty, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be pitted against Crazy difficulty bots. And don't worry if you miss a week; while you won't be demoted, your ranking will adjust according to other players' performances.
