Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration
Treyarch's annual 115 Day celebration brought exciting news for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies fans. A comprehensive blog post detailed upcoming additions, most notably the reveal of a new map: The Tomb.
This sandy, mysterious map debuts with Season 2 on January 28th, following closely on the heels of Season 1's Citadelle des Morts. The narrative continues as Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya investigate an excavation site based on clues from Gabriel Krafft, leading them to ancient catacombs with potential links to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe.
Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a more compact experience reminiscent of Liberty Falls, emphasizing replayability and hidden Easter eggs. Treyarch also teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon drawing inspiration from previous titles and the return of a classic SMG.
Season 2 promises significant quality-of-life improvements, including community-requested features such as tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer modes. A co-op pause option for Zombies is added, along with the ability for players to rejoin matches with their loadouts after disconnections. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will also be implemented.
Additionally, 115 Day festivities include double GobbleGum earn rates and double XP for players, weapons, and battle passes until January 21st at 10 AM PT. Treyarch shared impressive statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played and a more than doubled Main Quest completion rate since its launch.
The impact of the SAG-AFTRA strike on voice acting for Zombies characters, particularly in The Tomb, is also noted, following Activision's previous announcement of recasting.
