Complete "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Step-by-Step Guide
This main quest, unlocked after "Wedding Crashers," tasks you with saving Hans from execution in Trosky Castle. Here's how to navigate this time-sensitive mission:
Phase 1: Early Tasks
-
Hauling Sacks: Begin by transporting sacks from a wagon to a nearby shed. This is a mandatory, non-negotiable task. Repeat until complete.

Assisting the Blacksmith: Next, help the blacksmith by crafting a horseshoe using materials found at the forge. Deliver the finished horseshoe to the stables.

Aiding Fanka: Retrieve a lockpick from a red pot in the forge. Use it (optional, but recommended) to gain access to the kitchen by assisting Fanka, the cook. This improves your reputation and grants future kitchen access.

Phase 2: Accessing the Surgeon's Workshop & Thomas
-
The Chamberlain's Dilemma: Speak with the ailing chamberlain. Attempt to persuade him to allow you to brew a Digestive Potion. Success grants access to the surgeon's workshop; failure necessitates stealth.

Brewing the Cure: If you failed to convince the chamberlain, discreetly obtain food from the kitchen to distract a guard and access the workshop. If successful, proceed directly. In the surgeon's workshop, craft a Fever Tonicum (essential) and a Digestive Potion (if you persuaded the chamberlain).

Thomas' Treatment: If you helped the chamberlain, return with the Digestive Potion to gain access to Thomas. Otherwise, utilize stealth, distracting guards with pebbles as needed, to reach Thomas' room via the kitchen's upper staircase. Give Thomas' sister, Adele, the Fever Tonicum. A cutscene will conclude the quest.

Successfully completing these steps before the bell tolls twelve times earns you reputation points. However, a successful outcome is guaranteed regardless of timing.
