Dark & Darker Mobile could be getting a name change from Krafton

by Alexander Mar 18,2025

Dark and Darker Mobile is facing a name change as Krafton ends its partnership with Ironmace. While Krafton denies a connection, the timing coincides with a recent court ruling ordering Ironmace to pay Nexon $6 million in damages. This lawsuit centers on allegations that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, used trade secrets from a cancelled Nexon project (codenamed P3) to develop Dark and Darker.

Despite Krafton's statement, the termination of their global licensing agreement suggests a deeper connection. This means the mobile version, under a new name, will be a completely independent release. The irony is not lost that Ironmace initially sued Nexon for copyright infringement.

This legal battle, regardless of its ethical implications, may open the floodgates for similar game releases. For fans anticipating Dark and Darker Mobile, the news isn't entirely negative. Krafton intends to proceed with the global launch, though this remains subject to change. We will provide updates as the situation unfolds. We hope the final release maintains the high quality we appreciated in our review.
