Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game is already unavailable on the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases have been disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered a compelling action RPG experience featuring reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes and villains. While initially generating considerable excitement, particularly within the Disney fanbase, the game's two-year early access period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition.
The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-app purchases to fully develop characters, also proved a deterrent for many. Despite these drawbacks, the game's character designs and graphics were widely praised for their creativity and visual appeal.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The timing of the EOS announcement is particularly striking, given the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This abrupt closure follows a pattern for Kabam, who previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off without prior notice.
