Dynasty Warriors: Origins lacks a dedicated sprint button; your character automatically sprints after a few running steps. While sprinting offers swift movement, traversing expansive battlefields to rescue officers and secure victory often necessitates faster travel.
This is where your mount proves invaluable, summonable at any time in the overworld or during battles. Engage in combat from horseback for a rapid hit-and-run approach. Here's how to acquire your first horse, improve its abilities, and switch between different mounts.
How To Unlock Your First Steed in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Your initial mount is a free gift! In Chapter 1, locate a merchant in the overworld. He appears after completing "Test Of Zheng Fei," usually en route to the Battle Of Guangzong. Find him northeast of Wan Castle, before reaching the camp, standing beside his horse. Speak to him to receive your steed; it's automatically equipped.
Summon your horse by pressing down on the left joystick (console) or V (keyboard).
How To Enhance Your Mount in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Your horse gains experience points (XP) based on completed missions, even if unused during the mission itself. However, skirmishes do not award XP. Missions, indicated by a red diamond with a soldier icon, provide moderate-length battles for XP gain. The XP earned depends on battle duration and your usage of the horse, particularly charging into enemies. Leveling up unlocks unique buffs for each horse at specific intervals.
How To Change Mounts in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Your first horse is automatically equipped, but others are available. Manage your mounts in the Battle Preparation menu; it's the last option on the left. Each horse possesses unique advantages, with some exhibiting superior speed and capabilities. Consider switching to optimize your strategy. Acquire new mounts by maximizing the peace level of a region; a new horse awaits at a nearby waypoint as a reward.
