The Unexpected Partnership: FIFA and Konami
This collaboration is particularly interesting given the long-standing rivalry between EA and Konami. EA ended its partnership with FIFA in 2022 after FIFA demanded a significantly increased licensing fee ($1 billion every four years, a substantial increase from the previous $150 million).
Following the split, EA released EA Sports FC 24 in 2023. Now, FIFA has partnered with Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.
