Final Fantasy 14 Offers Returning Players Tons of Free Playtime

Final Fantasy XIV's Free Login Campaign Returns!

Square Enix has re-launched its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players with inactive accounts a chance to return to Eorzea for a limited time. This campaign runs until February 6th, 2025, offering up to four consecutive days of free gameplay on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

The campaign commenced on January 9th, 2025, and the 96-hour play timer begins upon logging into the game launcher. Eligibility requires a previously purchased and registered Square Enix account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign start. Accounts suspended or cancelled for violating terms of service are excluded. Players can verify their eligibility on the Mog Station.

This free period arrives conveniently following the release of Patch 7.15, which introduced new side quests, including the continuation of the Hildibrand storyline and a new Custom Delivery client within the Dawntrail expansion. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's recent New Year's message confirmed upcoming Patches 7.2 and 7.3 for 2025, along with smaller content updates, and hinted at future directions for the Dawntrail main storyline.

While waiting for the next major content updates, players can enjoy the current content, including the Heavensturn event (until January 16th, offering a minion reward), and the upcoming conclusion of the Dawntrail Role Quest series in Patch 7.16 (releasing January 21st). The Free Login Campaign provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to catch up on the Dawntrail narrative before the release of Patch 7.2.
