Unexpected news for fans of absurd gaming: Goat Simulator is branching out into the card game arena! Get ready for some goat-fueled mayhem. The game is slated for release later this year.
Coffee Stain North, the creative minds behind the original Goat Simulator, are collaborating with MOOD Publishing (creators of Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game and Valheim: The Board Game) to bring this card game to life.
What's in Store for Goat Simulator: The Card Game?
Details are scarce, but we know it's a physical card game for 2-6 players, promising the same brand of chaotic fun as its video game counterpart. Expect plenty of absurdity, all neatly packaged in a card game box.
Launching on Kickstarter later this year, this card game will translate the unique energy of the video game into a tabletop experience. If you've ever virtually launched a goat into the stratosphere in the video game, you can probably envision the chaotic fun this card game will offer.
Santiago Ferrero, Creative Director at Coffee Stain North, perfectly summarized the game's essence: "Chaotic animal-based video games are so last year. That’s why we’ve partnered with MOOD Publishing to release a chaotic animal-based card game instead! You’ve seen goats on your screen; now it’s time to bring them to your table.”
From April Fool's Joke to a Full-Fledged Genre?
What began as an April Fool's Day prank in 2014 has evolved into a surprisingly enduring franchise. Goat Simulator has conquered various platforms, from PCs and consoles to mobile devices (iOS, Android, and Apple Arcade).
Now, with Goat Simulator 3 continuing the series' legacy of ridiculousness, a card game is the latest addition to the ever-expanding Goat Simulator universe. In the meantime, you can find the Goat Simulator games on the Google Play Store.
