Godzilla Rampages Through Fortnite: How to Become and Defeat the King of the Monsters
Godzilla, the iconic kaiju, is stomping onto the Fortnite Battle Royale island, starting January 17, 2025. One lucky player per match gets to control the colossal creature, but the rest will have to face him in a titanic showdown. Here's your guide to both sides of this epic encounter.
Becoming Godzilla:
The key to becoming Godzilla is locating and entering a randomly spawning rift. These rifts appear once per match at unpredictable locations across the island. Speed and luck are crucial; be the first to find and jump into the rift, and you'll transform into Godzilla himself.
As Godzilla, you'll command three devastating abilities: a Roar to pinpoint nearby opponents, a Mighty Stomp Attack to send them flying, and a powerful Heat Ray for significant damage. However, your reign of terror won't last long; the entire lobby will band together to bring you down.
Defeating Godzilla:
For the 99 players who didn't snag the rift, the challenge lies in defeating Godzilla. Epic Games has strategically placed weak points on the monster. Targeting these effectively will cause Godzilla's Fragments to drop, granting you 40 health and three dash charges – crucial for mobility during this intense battle.
The Rail Gun, unvaulted for this event, is a powerful tool for inflicting substantial damage quickly. High-rarity weapons are also highly effective. Remember, the player who inflicts the most damage on Godzilla receives a coveted reward: the Godzilla Medallion (with a dash ability) and the exotic Burst Quad Launcher.
Even if you don't become Godzilla, defeating him provides a thrilling challenge and impressive rewards. Add "defeating the King of the Monsters" to your Fortnite achievements!
