Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never greenlit. While the concept was lauded internally as "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as the reasons for its rejection.
He expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' compelling alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future narrative arcs.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. The games depict an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank titles.
Price's retirement, announced earlier this year after over three decades at Insomniac, will see Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang take over as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's recent releases include Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (recently released on PC) with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
