Marvel SNAP's initial Spotlight Cache card for 2025, Victoria Hand, is an Ongoing character enhancing cards generated within your hand. While often categorized as a card-generation archetype staple, Victoria Hand surprisingly excels in discard decks. This guide presents two effective Victoria Hand decks, one for each archetype, to help you navigate the current SNAP metagame.
Victoria Hand (2–3)
Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.
Series: Five (Ultra Rare)
Season: Dark Avengers
Release: January 7, 2025
The Best Deck for Victoria Hand
A card-generation deck featuring Devil Dinosaur synergizes perfectly with Victoria Hand. Optimizing this combo involves incorporating Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.
Iron Patriot, Mystique, and Speed can substitute for Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Frigga, offering flexibility.
Victoria Hand Deck Synergies
- Victoria Hand boosts cards generated in your hand.
- Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl are your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards for added buffs or disruption.)
- Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards.
- The Collector's power increases with each generated card.
- Cosmo acts as a tech card, protecting the Devil Dino and Victoria Hand lane.
- Devil Dino serves as the win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or with numerous generated cards in hand.
Reports suggest Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or those changing locations. Whether this is a bug or intended functionality remains unclear. If not a bug, the card text requires clarification. Regardless, it's a factor to consider.
Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay
Successful Victoria Hand deck play hinges on:
- Energy Management: Balance card generation and energy expenditure. A full hand maximizes Devil Dino's potential, but generating cards and utilizing Victoria's effect requires strategic energy use. Skipping turns to maintain a full hand might outweigh filling the board.
- Strategic Deception: Use random cards strategically to mislead opponents and mask your next move.
- Ongoing Lane Protection: Opponents often target the Victoria Hand lane with tech cards like Enchantress. Playing Devil Dino and Victoria in the same lane (creating an Ongoing setup) and protecting them with Cosmo mitigates this.
Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand
Victoria Hand also finds a place in refined discard decks. Pair her with: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.
Countering Victoria Hand Strategies
Super Skrull effectively counters Victoria Hand. His synergy with Doctor Doom 2099 decks makes him a valuable tech card against both Victoria Hand and Doom 2099 lineups.
Shadow King and Enchantress offer additional counter options. Shadow King removes Victoria's buffs from a lane, while Enchantress disables all Ongoing effects. Valkyrie, strategically played in a crucial enemy lane, can disrupt power distribution.
Is Victoria Hand a Valuable Acquisition?
Victoria Hand is a worthwhile card. Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a strong return on investment. Despite some RNG reliance, her permanent buffs facilitate consistent deck building. Her adaptability to card-generation and discard archetypes makes her a valuable asset for many players.
