Marvel Snap Deck Guide: September 2024 Edition

This month's Marvel Snap (Free) meta is surprisingly balanced, but the new season introduces fresh cards and the "Activate" ability, promising significant shifts. This guide offers five top-tier decks (assuming a complete card collection) and two more accessible options for players with smaller collections. Remember, meta decks are fluid; adapt your strategy accordingly.

The Young Avengers haven't drastically altered the landscape, with exceptions like Kate Bishop and Marvel Boy. However, the Amazing Spider-Season and the "Activate" mechanic are game-changers, hinting at a drastically different October meta.

Top-Tier Decks:

Kazar and Gilgamesh

Kazar and Gilgamesh Deck

Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird

This surprisingly strong deck utilizes low-cost cards boosted by Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, while Gilgamesh thrives in this high-buff environment. Kate Bishop offers flexibility and cost reduction for Mockingbird.

Silver Surfer Still Never Dies, Part II

Silver Surfer Deck

Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool

This refined classic leverages the Nova/Killmonger synergy, Forge's Brood buff, Gwenpool's hand boosts, Shaw's power scaling, Hope's energy generation, Cassandra Nova's power theft, and the Surfer/Absorbing Man finisher. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile addition.

Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing

Spectrum and Man-Thing Deck

Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum

This Ongoing archetype utilizes Spectrum's end-game buff. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing combo shines, with Luke protecting against US Agent. Cosmo's utility is expected to increase. The deck's simplicity makes it accessible.

Discard Dracula

Discard Dracula Deck

Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse

A reliable Apocalypse-based Discard deck, featuring the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards, aiming for a final-turn Apocalypse/Dracula combo. The Collector provides potential cheeky plays.

Destroy

Destroy Deck

Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death

This near-classic Destroy deck incorporates the buffed Attuma. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, utilizing X-23 for energy, and finishing with Nimrod or Knull. The absence of Arnim Zola reflects the prevalence of counter-measures.

Fun & Accessible Decks:

Darkhawk Is Back (Did He Ever Leave?)

Darkhawk Deck

Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature

A fun deck built around Darkhawk, utilizing Korg and Rockslide to fill the opponent's deck, along with disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova.

Budget Kazar

Budget Kazar Deck

Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught

A beginner-friendly version of the Kazar deck, teaching the core combo mechanics without requiring rare cards. It features the Kazar/Blue Marvel synergy and an Onslaught finisher.

The meta is dynamic; expect significant changes in October due to the new "Activate" ability and potential balance adjustments. Happy Snapping!
