Netflix has officially teamed up with the masterminds behind the acclaimed video game *Sifu* to transform its captivating story into a cinematic experience. Originally announced back in 2022, the film adaptation was spearheaded by Story Kitchen in collaboration with Sloclap, the game's developer. However, as per the latest updates from Deadline, the project's production team has undergone a significant expansion.

Netflix has enlisted the talents of T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner franchise and Netflix's *Project Adam*, to craft the screenplay. Although Derek Kolstad, who initially took on the task of adapting *Sifu*'s narrative, might still be part of the project, his role remains uncertain at this stage.
The film's production is further bolstered by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the visionary director behind the John Wick series, who will serve as an executive producer alongside his company, 87Eleven Entertainment. Interestingly, Stahelski is also involved in another major video game adaptation, *Ghost of Tsushima*.
Since its launch in 2022, *Sifu* has garnered widespread acclaim, selling over one million copies within just three weeks. The game's storyline revolves around a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that grants resurrection at the expense of aging the protagonist several years with each death, the journey unfolds through a perilous landscape filled with danger and intrigue.
