Nintendo's Alarmo alarm clock: Japan release delayed despite global availability. Due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock, the general release of the Nintendo Alarmo in Japan has been postponed.
Production Issues Cause Delay
Nintendo Japan's website announced the delay, citing current production and inventory challenges. The February 2025 launch is now indefinitely postponed. The impact on other countries' stock remains unclear, with a general release still planned for March 2025 internationally.
In the meantime, a pre-order system will be implemented exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan, starting mid-December with shipments in early February 2025. Specific pre-order dates will be announced later.
A Popular Alarm Clock
The Alarmo, launched in October, is an interactive alarm clock featuring music from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, and Splatoon. Its initial global release and online availability (requiring a Nintendo Switch Online subscription) led to unexpectedly high demand. This resulted in Nintendo halting online orders and transitioning to a lottery system. Physical stock in Japan and New York quickly sold out.
Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general release date will be shared soon.
