Nintendo Switch 2 Rumored Logo Surfaces Online

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo has surfaced online, potentially confirming the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next-generation console have been circulating since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged its existence. A pre-March 2025 unveiling is anticipated, with a later launch expected.

The timing of the Switch 2's release has been a topic of much speculation since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement. While Nintendo has remained tight-lipped, the prevailing assumption is that the console will indeed be called the Nintendo Switch 2. Many leaks suggest a design similar to the original Switch, lending credence to a direct sequel branding strategy.

Comicbook reports a logo leak shared on Bluesky by Necro Felipe of Universo Nintendo. This logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring the stylized Joy-Con controllers above "Nintendo Switch," with the only notable difference being a "2" positioned next to the Joy-Con. This detail seemingly validates the widely used "Nintendo Switch 2" placeholder name.

Is "Switch 2" the Official Name?

The logo's authenticity remains unverified, and some question whether "Nintendo Switch 2" will be the final name. Nintendo's history features consoles with names significantly different from their predecessors, the Wii U being a notable exception. The Wii U's unconventional name is speculated to have negatively impacted its sales, potentially prompting a more straightforward approach for the Switch 2.

Previous leaks align with Felipe's shared logo and name, but gamers should exercise caution until official confirmation. A recent social media post hints at a potentially earlier-than-expected reveal.
