Encountering Golden Hands in Persona 4 Golden is a common occurrence within dungeons, whether unexpectedly in the overworld or springing from unsuspecting chests. These formidable foes progressively increase in strength with each dungeon, consistently posing a significant challenge.
Despite their difficulty, defeating Golden Hands yields substantial XP rewards, making the effort worthwhile. Happiness Hands, the Golden Hands variant found in Yukiko's Castle, present an early-game obstacle. This guide outlines effective strategies for overcoming them.
Happiness Hand Affinities in Persona 4 Golden
Happiness Hands exhibit strong resistance to all elemental attacks.
The key to defeating Happiness Hands lies in exploiting their vulnerability to physical attacks. While Almighty attacks are typically effective against Golden Hands, this strategy isn't readily available early in the game. Happiness Hands inflict minimal damage and may even remain idle during their turn; however, they will flee if given the opportunity.
A weakness exploit or critical hit will trigger their escape. When facing multiple Happiness Hands, prioritize focusing down a single target, as defeating even one before they flee is a significant accomplishment.
Strategies for Defeating Happiness Hands in Persona 4 Golden
The most effective approach involves fusing Orobas, a Persona possessing the Hysterical Slap skill. This skill delivers two hits and has a chance to inflict the Rage status effect. A Raged Happiness Hand will continuously use its basic attack, preventing its escape. Orobas can be fused using the following Persona combinations:
- Apsaras + Forneus
- Apsaras + Slime
Before engaging, ensure your party is fully healed. Concentrate solely on using physical attacks that consume HP, avoiding any other actions. Utilize Yosuke's Sonic Punch, Chie's Skull Cracker, and the Protagonist's Hysterical Slap repeatedly. Success heavily relies on luck due to limited early-game options, but defeating a Happiness Hand provides a significant experience boost at low levels.
Crucially, avoid using an All-Out Attack unless a kill is guaranteed; otherwise, the Happiness Hand will recover and flee.
