Phasmophobia Weekly Challenge: Mastering the Primitive Challenge

by George Apr 05,2025

It may feel like we've gone back to the Stone Age during the Primitive weekly challenge in Phasmophobia, but I don’t think cavemen needed to worry about ghosts haunting them. We’ll need to get in and out without our electronics, but can we make that happen?

The Primitive Challenge is one of Phasmophobia's most challenging weekly tasks, requiring you to identify the ghost and complete investigations without any electronic aids. This means you'll need to rely heavily on your intuition and understanding of ghost behavior.

You must tackle this challenge at 10 Ridgeview Court, a house-style map with a layout that's easier to navigate and find safety in compared to other locations. Remember, like all weekly challenges, you need to complete three successful investigations to earn full credit.

Tips & Tricks To Complete Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia

Navigating the Primitive Challenge involves understanding the unique rules and circumstances. You'll be without most of your usual equipment, particularly electronics. This includes basic tools like Flashlights and evidence-gathering devices such as DOTs Projectors and Video Cameras.

Sanity Medication is also off the table, but you start with a full Sanity meter to temporarily shield you from ghost activity. Your provided equipment includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes to prevent up to two ghost hunt attempts, Tier 2 Firelights, and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for added protection.

For evidence gathering, your options are limited to two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 "glowstick" UV lights, which double as flashlights and tools for detecting ultraviolet evidence. You also have two Tier 1 thermometers to check for freezing temperatures.

To succeed, you'll need to use your knowledge of ghost behaviors. Each ghost has unique traits that can help you identify them, and our no-evidence cheat sheet can be a valuable resource.

Your first step should be to locate the ghost quickly, especially since you can't access the house's fuse box, increasing the risk to your sanity in the dark. The ghost's increased activity in this challenge should make it easier to find.

Alternatively, you can use the provided Cursed Object, the Ouija Board, found in the laundry room on the first floor, left of the dining area. Ask the ghost its "favorite room" to pinpoint its location, but be aware this will cost 50% of your sanity. Always say "Goodbye" to the board to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt. This method is particularly useful in group settings for added safety.

Apply the setting, return to the main menu, and select 10 Ridgeview Court on the map board. Remember, the loadout is pre-set and cannot be changed. When ready, select 'Ready Up' and 'Start' to begin.
