Avowed, set in the rich fantasy world of Eora (from the Pillars of Eternity series), offers a diverse range of races, though character creation options are somewhat limited. Here's a breakdown of the playable races:
Humans (Folk)
Humans, or Folk, are the most common race in Avowed and offer extensive customization. The character creator provides a variety of presets, detailed facial features, skin tone options, and diverse hairstyles, ensuring broad representation.
Elves
Elves are another playable race. Visually similar to humans, they are distinguished by subtly different facial structures and characteristic pointed ears.
Godlikes
While all Envoys are Godlikes in the game's narrative, players can choose to incorporate or omit Godlike features in their character. These features include unique hairstyles and facial options, ranging from subtle to fantastical. At launch, Avowed offers 14 Godlike facial features and 4 hairstyles, available to all characters regardless of race or body type.
Character Customization Options:
Avowed offers four body types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Two masculine and two feminine voice options are also available. Players can also select their character's pronouns (he/him, she/her, they/them).
Unplayable Races:
While several races populate the world of Avowed (Dwarves, Aumaua, Orlans), they are currently not playable. However, Obsidian Entertainment may add more races in future updates or DLC.
This covers all playable races in Avowed. For further customization options, check out our guide on character backgrounds.
