"Pokemon GO Announces Upcoming Gigantamax Debut at Future Event"

Summary

  • Gigantamax Kingler makes its debut in Pokemon GO on February 1 during the Max Battle Day event.
  • Players can utilize Max Mushrooms to boost damage in battles.
  • Event bonuses include enhanced Max Particle collection, Power Spot battles, and increased XP rewards.

Pokemon GO enthusiasts have a thrilling update to look forward to: the debut of Gigantamax Kingler on February 1. Following the much-anticipated introduction of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms last year, Niantic has been steadily expanding the roster of these unique variants within the game.

Gigantamax is a special form of Dynamax that not only amplifies a Pokemon's size and strength but also alters its appearance and bestows exclusive G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Pokemon capable of Gigantamaxing, Pokemon GO currently includes only six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the latest addition. The list is set to grow with the upcoming event.

    • Particle collection limit increased to 5600

During the event, players can amass up to 1600 Max Particles, essential for participating in Pokemon GO's Max Battles. All Power Spots will feature Gigantamax Battles, refresh more often, and provide 8x more particles. From 12 am to 5 pm on February 1, players will earn double the Max Particles while exploring and need only a quarter of the usual distance to collect them. A $5 ticket will grant 1 Max Mushroom, 25000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and raise the Max Particle collection limit to 5600. Additionally, a $7.99 box containing six particle packs will be available on the Pokemon GO Web Store.

Max Battle Day is just one of the exciting events scheduled for February, but it's not the first. Niantic has already announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29 to February 1. While Gigantamax Kingler won't be part of this event, players can anticipate other engaging activities, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19, and the introduction of more Galar Pokemon in the coming days.
