Pokémon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes Arrive in Shadow Raids!
Pokémon GO trainers rejoice! For the first time, remote raid passes will be usable in Shadow Raids during the upcoming Fashion Week: Taken Over event. This highly requested feature, initially introduced with Shadow Raids in 2023, will be available for a limited time only.
Fashion Week: Taken Over Event Details:
The event runs from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time. During this period, players can participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely or in person. A key benefit: Shadow Raids offer increased chances of catching Pokémon with higher IV stats.
Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day:
The excitement continues with a special Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Trainers will have an enhanced chance to encounter a Shiny Shadow Ho-Oh and can teach it the powerful charged attack, Sacred Fire. Additionally, Charged TMs can be used to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.
Limited-Time Offer:
While this is a welcome addition, it's crucial to remember that the ability to use remote raid passes in Shadow Raids is exclusively for the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Once the event concludes, this feature will be unavailable.
Future Implications:
Whether this is a one-time trial or a permanent change remains uncertain. Given past criticism regarding the in-person requirement for Dynamax and Gigantamax battles, many players hope this convenience becomes a standard feature. The success of this limited-time implementation will likely influence Niantic's future decisions.
