Potential Pokemon Legends: Z-A Release Date Leaks Online

Key Points:

  • A potential release date of August 15, 2025, for Pokémon Legends: Z-A surfaced via a brief listing on Amazon UK in early January 2025.
  • This date aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.
  • Official confirmation of the release date is anticipated during the Pokémon Day 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast, expected on February 27th.

An unconfirmed release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has emerged online, suggesting a launch on August 15, 2025. This date is consistent with the general timeframe announced by The Pokémon Company.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is poised as a sequel to the 2022 title, Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Similar to its predecessor, it's expected to prioritize exploration and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Details about the game have been scarce since its initial announcement.

The leaked August 15th date originated from a temporary update on the Amazon UK listing for the game, as noted by content creator Light88. This information was quickly removed, reverting to a December 31st placeholder. The August date, however, remains plausible given the previously stated 2025 release window.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

Regardless of the leaked date's accuracy, a formal announcement is likely imminent. Similar to the game's initial announcement during Pokémon Day 2024, its release date could be revealed during the 2025 event on February 27th (the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green). Evidence supporting a February 27th Pokémon Day 2025 has been found by a data miner analyzing the latest Pokémon GO build.

Beyond the release date, fans can anticipate further reveals, such as gameplay footage, potentially debuting during the Pokémon Day 2025 Pokémon Presents.

Initially confirmed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to the console's backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have included paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received one free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
