Metal Gear Solid 4 PS5 & Xbox Ports Hinted by KonamiMGS Master Collection Vol.2 May Include Metal Gear Solid 4 Remake
"We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4," Okamura told IGN. "Unfortunately, we can't really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3... you can probably connect the dots! Right now, we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can't really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!"
Many fans have wondered if the game, which has remained exclusive to the PS3 since its launch, could be included in a potential Master Collection Vol. 2. Given last year's release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 containing the remastered versions of the series' first three games on next-gen platforms including the PC and Switch, an MGS4 PS5 port and such might see the light of day.
Rumors of the MGS4 remake gained traction last year, when reports noted of planned placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appearing on Konami's official Metal Gear Solid timeline page. IGN further reported that these three titles are likely to be part of the unannounced Master Collection Vol. 2. Though, Konami has yet to officially confirm this.
Adding to the speculation, Solid Snake English voice actor David Hayter hinted on social media last November at his involvement in something that appeared to be related to MGS4, sparking further discussion within the community. As of now, Konami has not revealed the contents, nor any of its concrete plans, for a highly anticipated MGS4 remake in Master Collection Vol. 2.
