How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
In Hollow Era, you start as a Soul Spirit. To ascend to a Shinigami or Soul Reaper, you must accept the initial quest from the NPC named Hurt Shinigami, who is calling for help. Once you commit to the Shinigami path, there's no turning back to play as a Hollow—unless you later become a Visored. For those interested in the Hollow route, refer to our Hollow progression guide.
During the crucial choice between Shinigami and Hollow, act swiftly. Choosing Hollow involves breaking your chain, but as a Shinigami, your chain will gradually break every two minutes, turning you into a Hollow if ignored. If this happens, consult our resurrection moves lists for your Hollow endgame.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your journey as a Shinigami starts with purifying 6 Lost Souls, as maintaining the balance between life and death is your duty. Next, you'll deliver a letter to a Doctor near the hospital, found from an NPC near Hurt Shinigami.
Early quests are an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. If your budget allows, use the bus stop as a teleport/fast travel for $200, as the map is expansive and involves much running. Alternatively, spend 149 Robux on infinite fast travel from the Robux Shop.
Quests are marked with a red crosshair, guiding you through defeating Hollows, Corrupted Shinigamis, and more until you reach level 15. Quests vary from repeatable to progression-based, and some are linked to specific paths like Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
To maximize your Shinigami Reiatsu, strategic investment of skill points is crucial. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami.
- Caja Negacion: A lightning beam from your finger, spreading electricity when combined with Electric.
- Shakkaho: A red energy ball that explodes on impact, enhanced with Ragdoll to knock back foes or Fire to ignite them.
- Chain Bind: Summons energy chains to pull enemies towards you.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with six light rods, perfect for agile foes.
- Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that damages and explodes, ideal for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
To unlock Shikai in Hollow Era, reach level 15 and visit Urihiro for the Shikai Training quest. Defeat Urahara Kisuke to earn 1,700 exp and access Shikai powers.
Warning: Beating Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging without a fully optimized hero. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher before attempting this quest.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random powerful ability. If unsatisfied, you can re-roll at Urahara Shop for a fee. The Rage Bar fills with damage taken or dealt, and pressing Y (default keybind) activates Shikai until your Reiatsu depletes or you release the key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level increases with Mastery Points earned by using Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce Rage consumption and enhance your aura effects.
- Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura.
- Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles.
- Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost.
- Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Once committed to the Shinigami path, you can't switch to Hollow—unless you become a Visored. At level 50, you can unlock the Vizard fighting style at the Vizard’s Warehouse. To become a Visored, you'll need Hogyoku, obtained by defeating the King of Hueco Mundo with a 1% drop rate.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain Mask Control to reduce the chance of Hollow control and extend mask-wearing time, boosting damage with Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Allows control over your inner Hollow, worn at will.
- Cero: Charges a beam of Reiatsu for significant damage.
- Final Cero: Pins and crushes enemies with a powerful Cero from above.
- Vasto Rage: Temporarily transforms you into the mightiest Hollow type.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
