Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.
A year in the making, Smite 2, built with Unreal Engine 5, offers a visually enhanced and mechanically refined experience compared to its predecessor. The core gameplay remains: 5v5 battles featuring gods from various mythologies, but with a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility.
This open beta introduces Aladdin, a completely new god designed specifically for Smite 2, possessing unique wall-running and revival abilities. His ultimate involves a lamp-powered 1v1 challenge. Joining Aladdin are four other gods: Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse).
The popular 3v3 Joust mode returns, alongside a fresh Arthurian-themed map, updated Conquest map, and an alpha version of Assault mode. Several gods also receive optional "Aspects," offering enhanced gameplay.
Titan Forge Games' creative director has declared Smite 2 superior to its predecessor in numerous aspects, thanking players for their alpha feedback. The team promises ambitious new content for 2025. While currently absent from Nintendo Switch, the possibility of a Switch 2 release remains open. Smite fans can now experience the open beta across most major platforms.
