How To Find & Use Thermite in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

by Alexis Mar 18,2025

Vaults are back in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2: Lawless, and they're tougher than ever to crack. But don't worry, Epic Games has provided the perfect tool for aspiring heist artists: Thermite! Here's how to find and use it.

Navigating the new season's loot pool can be tricky, but thankfully, Thermite is relatively easy to find. You can locate it as floor loot, in chests, or purchase it using Bars at Black Markets and Outlaw Vending Machines (found in Crime City, Seaport City, Lonewolf Lair, and Masked Meadows). You can also find it in Go Bags.

Adding Thermite to your inventory is simple, but choosing where it fits in your loadout might require some strategic thinking. Fortunately, Thermite is versatile.

The primary use for Thermite is, of course, opening those tempting vaults scattered across the map. Simply place it on the vault's front and wait for the explosion. However, it takes time, so targeting weaker points on the structure will speed things up. And remember, other players will be vying for the same loot, so stay alert!

Alternatively, you can throw Thermite as a projectile. It has a short fuse before detonating, creating a fiery explosion that damages nearby enemies. While not the most powerful explosive in Fortnite, it's a handy tool for escaping tight spots during intense firefights.

That's how to find and use Thermite in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2. For more Fortnite news, check out the rumored collaborations for this Lawless season.

Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
