Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event, kicking off the year's Xbox game announcements. The first Developer Direct events, launched in January 2023, have become a regular feature, providing focused showcases of upcoming Xbox titles.
The 2025 event is scheduled for January 23rd at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.
Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially revealed in June 2024. A demo was playable at QuakeCon 2024, and a mid-2025 launch is rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Canada), known for Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is still pending.
While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) have featured multiple games. The 2024 event showcased titles like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, the 2025 event likely holds further unannounced surprises.
