Xbox Game Pass Drops Second Wave for January 2025

Microsoft unveils the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 game lineup. This announcement, preceding Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct on January 23rd, features several day-one Game Pass additions, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed title.

The Wave 2 launch begins January 21st with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Players can enjoy solo or up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer.

January 22nd sees a flurry of additions: Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering cooperative multiplayer flight and creature collection. Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience. Also launching on January 22nd are Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console), Magical Delicacy (Console), Tchia (Xbox Series X|S), and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console), all joining Game Pass Standard. Starbound (Cloud and Console) expands its Game Pass availability to Ultimate and Standard, following its PC Game Pass debut.

Day-one releases continue on January 28th with Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a fantasy action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Games, and Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a third-person shooter and trap defense game.

Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on January 29th across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) launches as a day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass title on January 30th, offering co-op sniping action.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) is another day-one release, hitting Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on January 31st. Finally, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th.

Game Pass Departures (January 31, 2025):

Several titles will be removed from Game Pass on January 31st to make room for the new additions: Anuchard, Broforce Forever, Darkest Dungeon, Death’s Door, Maquette, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. All titles are leaving across Cloud, Console, and PC platforms where applicable.
