Want to become a real artist? Surprise your friends by becoming an excellent artist just like that. Unleash your creativity with the Artist's Eye utility, a tool that helps you draw or paint with a real pen or pencil on paper or canvas.
Here’s how it works: Choose a model picture, such as a photo, and while you draw, watch your artwork through your phone or tablet (which needs to have a camera). The model image will be shown semi-transparently on top of your ongoing drawing, helping you to outline the contours. This method is reminiscent of the centuries-old camera lucida obscura technique (see more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera_lucida).
For the best experience, it's recommended to attach your phone to a support stand to keep it still, freeing up both your hands. This isn't cheating but rather a new, innovative way of working and learning.
Be sure to watch the video on how to use the app. Reviews indicate that users who have given low ratings often haven't fully understood how to use the app effectively. A helpful hint: On some newer Samsung and LG phones without a menu button, you can access the menu by long pressing the task switching button.
