Century Games, the developer behind Whiteout Survival, has just soft-launched a new strategy game
Called Crown of Bones, it sees you step into the shoes (toe bones?) of a skeleton king
Lead your army of skeletal minions, upgrade them and duke it out with mortals
With the success of Whiteout Survival, it's little surprise that Century Games is continuing to branch out. But you may not have spotted their latest release, Crown of Bones, which has quietly slipped into soft launch in a number of regions, including the US and Europe. As for what it's about? Well, that's another story entirely.
Going off of what info is available, Crown of Bones is a very casual-focused strategy title that sees you taking on the role of a Skeleton King leading an army of equally thin-looking warriors. As you journey through the land duking it out with enemies you'll slowly upgrade your skeletal horde and experience a variety of environments, from temperate farmland to arid deserts.
Like Century Games' Whiteout Survival, this is very much on the family-friendly side of things, as they're eager to point out, with cutesy and inoffensive graphics. There's a big focus on upgrades, collectibles and the constant increase of challenges and levels, allowing you to even pit yourself against friends and strangers on the leaderboards.
Zandri Dust anyone?
There's not much to say about Crown of Bones currently, except that if Whiteout Survival is any indication, I wouldn't be surprised if it draws heavily from other strategy games. Simultaneously, I can hardly fault them, as their previous release's casual cold survival approach, mirroring Frostpunk, proved hugely successful.
As we see more of Crown of Bones, I'll better understand its position. After all, Whiteout Survival was a major success, so perhaps Crown of Bones will be their new leading title?
