Lies of P's director, Ji-Won Choi, recently released a heartfelt message to fans, offering a sneak peek at upcoming DLC and a sequel for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game. The anniversary message expressed gratitude for player support, highlighting the team's dedication to crafting compelling DLC while addressing past issues. Choi emphasized a commitment to building on the base game's strengths while improving upon areas needing refinement. The message included new concept art depicting P in a snowy location, gazing at a lighthouse, hinting at a new, perilous storyline.
A new musical piece from the DLC's soundtrack was also shared, though originally composed in 2022 by "onoken." The accompanying music video, featuring a character with a clockwork weapon, visually aligns with the Lies of P aesthetic. NEOWIZ, the developer, owns the rights to both the song and the game, eliminating any copyright concerns.
While a precise release date for the DLC remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 earnings report indicates a launch sometime during the second half of 2024, alongside other titles including The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy, Cats & Soup: Malang Town, Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe, and Project IG.
Previous teasers, including an eight-minute video showcasing early concept art, revealed two distinct environments: an imposing industrial facility and a dangerous shipwreck. Choi assured players that their anticipation will be rewarded, promising a truly engaging DLC experience. This DLC, however, is just the beginning; a full sequel is also in development.
