New Pokémon Sleep Companions: Sneasel and Weavile
Pokémon Sleep players are in for a treat! As of December 3rd, 2024, Sneasel and its evolution, Weavile, have joined the roster of befriendable Pokémon. This guide explains how to add these icy newcomers to your team.
Where to Find Sneasel and Weavile
Given their dual Ice/Dark typing in the main series games, you might expect Sneasel and Weavile in a snowy location. In Pokémon Sleep, however, they're classified as Dark-type Pokémon (single typing in this game) and can be found in two locations:
- Snowdrop Tundra: Their primary habitat, reflecting their icy nature.
- Greengrass Isle: Surprisingly, they also appear on this starter island, making them accessible to all players early on.
If you're currently researching on a different island, use an EZ Travel Ticket to switch to either Snowdrop Tundra or Greengrass Isle.
Sleep Types and Evolution
Both Sneasel and Weavile share the "Dozing" sleep type. This means your chances of encountering them are significantly higher if you achieve a Dozing sleep type during your nightly Sleep Research.
Sneasel is the easier of the two to find initially. Evolving it into Weavile requires 80 Sneasel Candy and a Razor Claw. Note that you'll still need to find Weavile in the wild to collect Sleep Research data on the evolved form.
Are They Worth It?
Sneasel's value lies in its ability to collect Wiki Berries, making it a valuable addition to your Snowdrop Tundra team. It also provides a "Tasty Chance S" skill, boosting the deliciousness of your in-game dishes. Its ingredient requirements include some rarer items, so a well-equipped Sneasel is a significant asset.
Here's a summary of Sneasel/Weavile's attributes:
Speciality | Ingredients | Main Skill |
---|---|---|
Wiki Berries | Bean Sausage, Fancy Egg, Greengrass Soybeans | Tasty Chance S |
Sneasel Debut Bundle
To guarantee a Sneasel during its initial week, consider the "Pokémon Befriending Bundle (Sneasel) Vol. 1." Available from December 3rd to 9th, 2024, in the in-game store for 1,500 Gems, this bundle includes:
- Various befriending biscuits
- 2 Sneasel Incense (guarantees one Sneasel encounter on appropriate islands)
- 60 Sneasel Candy
Enjoy adding these cool new Pokémon to your Pokémon Sleep experience!
