New Update Enhances Ninja Gaiden 2 Black with Exciting Features

by Emery Feb 17,2025

Team Ninja has unleashed a significant update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, boosting it to version 1.0.7.0 and introducing highly anticipated features like New Game Plus and Photo Mode.

This patch, promised in January to address community feedback, is now live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store).

New Game Plus lets players restart the game on any previously completed difficulty, retaining their acquired weapons and Ninpo. However, all items will revert to level 1, and difficulty cannot be immediately increased via New Game Plus.

A welcome quality-of-life improvement allows players to hide their projectile weapon from view. This toggle is accessible within the Options menu under Game Settings.

Balance adjustments include HP reductions for enemies in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy counts in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage buff to some of Ayane's attacks.

Numerous bug fixes are also included, addressing high-performance PC issues, game-breaking bugs in specific chapters, and more. The complete patch notes are detailed below.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a surprise January release during the Xbox Developer Direct, is a remastered version powered by Unreal Engine 5. This upgrade enhances visuals, adds new playable characters, and improves combat mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised the game's visual improvements over Sigma 2, calling it an excellent action title, despite noting some enemy health adjustments.
