'Lost Soul Aside' Unveils Solo Odyssey in PS5, PC Exclusive

by Joshua Feb 22,2025

Lost Soul Aside, a single-player action game, is finally launching on May 30th for PlayStation 5 and PC after a decade-long development journey. Initially a solo project by Yang Bing, it's now a major Sony-published title under their "China Hero Project." Bing, now the founder and CEO of Ultizero Games in Shanghai, shared insights into the game's development with IGN.

The game's journey began as a solo developer's vision, culminating in a viral trailer reveal at Sony's State of Play in 2016. The anticipation has steadily grown, with many comparing Lost Soul Aside to a captivating blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry's dynamic combat system.

IGN, with the assistance of a translator, interviewed Yang Bing to explore the game's origins, inspirations, and the numerous challenges the team overcame throughout its extensive development. The interview delves into the evolution of the project from its humble beginnings to its highly anticipated release.
