inZOI, the latest life simulation game from Krafton, has achieved a remarkable feat by selling 1 million copies within its first week of release. This milestone marks the fastest sales record for any game published by the South Korean giant. Launched on PC via Steam in Early Access on March 28, inZOI quickly captured the gaming community's attention, not least due to a controversial feature where players could run over and kill children. Krafton promptly addressed this as an "unintended bug" and released a patch to rectify the issue.
Despite this early controversy, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam. The game also saw a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. Impressively, it ascended to the top of Steam's Global Top Sellers List just 40 minutes after its release, demonstrating strong consumer interest and demand.
The in-game user-generated content (UGC) sharing platform, Canvas, also saw significant engagement with over 1.2 million participants on launch day and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded. This robust community involvement underscores the game's appeal and the creativity it inspires among players.
IGN's Early Access review of inZOI awarded it a 6/10, noting that while the game is "visually striking" and ambitious, it lacks depth at this stage. Krafton attributes the game's successful launch to its proactive promotion and engagement with the community, with the inZOI global showcase and demo build generating significant interest.
CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about introducing inZOI to a global audience through Early Access, emphasizing the company's commitment to ongoing communication and development to establish inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out future updates that will include new content such as mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided for free until the game's full release. In response to player feedback, Krafton has committed to applying quick fixes throughout April to address reported issues, acknowledging the scale of inZOI's global community as a "next-level experience" while navigating the challenges of optimal communication.
