Application Description

A simple, non-field RPG where you escape a cursed forest. - Prologue - You're the village's best hunter, heading to a national hunting tournament near the royal capital. After your first night camping, you discover something unsettling: the campsite, once bustling with hunters, is deserted. National guards oversee the tournament, yet no one is to be found. You try to retrace your steps, but the forest plays tricks on you, leading you back to the same spot. Your usually reliable sense of direction has failed you. This is undeniably strange. You push aside panic and continue your trek.

  • What is the "Elven Curse"? - This non-field RPG casts you as a hunter escaping a cursed forest, aided by a quarter-elf. Gameplay is remarkably simple, using at most three buttons outside the main menu.

  • Character Creation - While you can't customize your character directly, you can reroll stats as needed. Stat increases upon leveling up are only visible on the character creation screen—not during gameplay. This screen also serves as a return point. If you run out of "talismans" (less than 2) or your life force reaches zero, your character is lost.

  • Peddler Quarter-Elf "Foria" - A young (or seemingly young) quarter-elf who secretly helps you escape the forest by harnessing the power of ancient forest spirits.

  • Scenario/Scene - The prologue unfolds like a visual novel. Foria's dialogue is cheerful, contrasting with the quiet, evocative language setting the game's mood.

  • Exploration Mode - You navigate the forest by exploring unexplored areas. The success of each exploration attempt is determined by "fog depth," influenced by your character's stats. If your life force is depleted, use poison (if available) to restore it, or consider using rare "talismans" to return to Foria.

  • Beast Encounters/Hunter Battles - Fierce creatures, from wolves and wild dogs to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits, inhabit the forest. Defeating them yields hides for trading with Foria. Unlike typical RPGs, battles don't grant experience points; the goal is escape. All battles are avoidable (though this requires luck or skillful gameplay). As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintain distance to attack without counterattack, but closing the gap risks a one-sided assault. Options include withdrawing to regain distance or using a "flash" ball provided by Foria for a guaranteed escape.

  • Cloak/Layering System - Craft cloaks from collected branches, resin, and leather to enhance your abilities. You can layer up to three cloaks, with abilities stacking. Cloaks can even restore vitality, but they can also be damaged and destroyed over time. The bow and arrow remain unchanged.

This isn't just a game; it's an experience. It features: random skill selection, strategic thinking, reflex tests, luck-based elements, item collection and crafting, and a focus on preparation before advancing. It's relaxing, even if played intensely, and includes an autosave system (though not during battles; exiting to the main menu is recommended for reliable saving).
